Peyton House, also known as Waverly, in Raymond, Mississippi, in central Hinds County, was built during 1831-34. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973.

The house was built by, and is significant for its association with, John B. Peyton (1797-1868), an early surveyor and settler of central Mississippi. Peyton was born in Fauquier County, Virginia in 1797 and came to Natchez, Mississippi in 1819. He worked as a surveyor for many years. He was elected major of the Mississippi Militia's 18th Regiment in 1827. He was elected to the Mississippi legislature in 1828. According to the NRHP nomination for the property,
