Top Five Tourist Attractions in USA

The United States is a vast country with a wide and diverse range of interesting and attractive travel destinations, so to narrow things down a bit I have complied a top five of the most popular, must see, tourist attractions to help make sure you don’t miss out!

1. Times Square NY

As one of the most exciting cities in the world, New York has a lot going for it including shopping, theatre and fine dining, and Times Square has it all and is one of the busiest and most glamorous parts of the city. From here you can visit Broadway and also see those famous signs, which light up the night making for some spectacular scenery.

2. National Mall and Memorial Parks, Washington, D.C.
Many of America’s most iconic public landmarks are in Washington, including the world famous Lincoln and Jefferson Memorials. The National and Memorial parks also house some of the oldest protected parks in the US and these are stunning whatever season you visit, but are particularly special in the Fall, when the parks become awash in beautiful shades of reds, golds and browns.

3. Grand Canyon, AZ

The Grand Canyon is one of the most famous natural attractions in the world, a steep sided gorge carved into the rock by the mighty Colorado River. The Grand Canyon is part of a vast national park, one of the first ever set up in the US and the new horseshoe-shaped glass Skywalk allows an unprecedented (and unsettling) view of the stunning scenery.

4. The Las Vegas Strip, Nevada

Las Vegas has to be the glitziest and most exhilarating city in the US, and one of the most famous gambling, shopping, and entertainment centers in the world. Over 31 million visitors pass through the Las Vegas Strip each year, with all its stunning light shows, billboards and amazing architecture. The hotels and casinos are something special, and you can truly live the glamorous life, if only for one night!

5. Golden Gate National Recreation Area, San Francisco

The Golden Gate National Recreation Area actually receives 2 million more visitors a year than Niagara Falls, which is why it has just squeezed into the top five. This area surrounds the San Francisco Bay and includes one of the most famous bridges in the world, The Golden Gate itself. This area also includes the infamous Alcatraz Island and some key historic military fortifications that date back as far as the Spanish conquistadors.
